Not to say this week hasn't been a busy one. After teaching my science class about the parts of a plant, I decided that letting them create their own plant would be a great idea. It was a great idea as the students had fun thinking of how to design their plant, how much water/sun/air/soil it needed to live, and what to name their precious little plant.
I had some cute ones - from the girls of course. This one was called "Candy Tree" and, as you can see, it produces candy instead of fruit.
This is the "Chicken and Pizza Tree" as it produces the previously mentioned food. It needs a lot of light, water, and soil but no air. The air messes up the chicken and pizza hence why this tree cannot live on earth. This tree lives on the moon. True story. That's what the kid said, at least.
This girl decided to forgo the actual tree/flower/plant portion of the assignment. Instead she created animal plants - little Pokemon creatures. But they aren't Pokemon, because when I said "Ohhh Pokemon" she vehemently shook her head. Note to self: Pokemon is not cool anymore.
Now onto some of the boys drawings...
In case you can't read the title, "My flower is Deadbody flower". This flower was created solely to prey on humans. It has thorns and teeth and is capable of eating anyone.
This is "Monster Tree". This tree needs lots of air but no light. I liked this drawing, very creepy.
Last but not least..."Deadbody tree". Apparently, "Deadbody" is a very popular name. I didn't get to discuss this tree with the boy who created it but it looks as though the tree is either in the process of eating five people or is used to hang up dead bodies. I'm not quite sure.
After my lessons were completed, Jacob stopped by so we could walk around the market. Every Wednesday, the local farmers and some random shopkeepers set up tents outside of my school. All the vegetables are pretty cheap and delicious (farm fresh!).
This is our little market where we bought our farm fresh vegetables and fruit. How awesome is it to live next to the farms that are producing your food.
This little couple made us some Japanese takoyaki. Which were pretty unappetizing...little squishy balls of seemly uncooked something. I was not impressed. They looked tasty on Travel Channel though.
Lots of cheapish clothes are sold here as well.
A bunch of the English teachers in the area all get together at this bar called the Rooftop bar once a week. Jacob and I went last week and returned home before midnight, a little toasted but not trashed. We believed that this would be the case this time. However...we were sadly/happily mistaken.
Oh yes, that is me taking a picture with my eyes shut. Why are they shut? You should know the answer to this. Soju Cocktail is the devil. A tasty devil, but the devil nonetheless. This was after a pitcher of apple soju cocktail, kiwi soju cocktail, and strawberry soju cocktail with several shots of soju on the side. I think we got home around 2...possibly 3am.
A heartfelt goodbye to my Uncle Mike. I love you. (>^-^)> <(^-^<)
