By the time Saturday rolled around, Jacob and I at least knew what we would be bringing to the dinner as well as a few other people's random dishes. Jacob insisted that we would have a "protein issue" as he always feels that "meat is necessary"! haha We spent a good two hours that day making deviled eggs and cooking the pork in our rice cooker (which doubles as a pressure cooker, I want one of these when we get back to the states!). Then headed to the festivities.
We had plenty of food for everyone. Mashed potatoes, lentil soup, cinnamon apples, rolls, shrimp & dip, salad, chicken, pork, maple carrots and...of course....the star of the meal:
The Deviled Eggs. Made specially by me and tasting of deliciousness. I even added red bell pepper and chives for that festive Christmas look. ^.^ Jacob's suggestion of course, he's the master chef and I but his little Sou Chef.
Tons of people showed for the Christmas party, hosted by the ever lovely Laurel & Jameson who opened their home to us wayward children. The picture to the right is almost everyone - Jameson and David are missing as they insisted of taking the photos. Roughly 15 people showed up, each bringing their own little entree. Food was in abundance as was drink - wines galore, soju in liter bottles, and beer by the jug. I only say this part to explain the following picture...
Yes, your eyes are telling you the truth. That is us attempting to create a human pyramid. Unfortunately, not a single one of us was a cheerleader or gymnast so we are going by pure knowledge of how pyramids themselves work. I have to admit that this was quite a painful experience but a fantastic one. We couldn't get any of the other manly men to take the bottom so Laurel and I opted to be strong. And strong we were. We didn't crumble! Until the top fell off...then we crumbled.
You might be wondering how we got to the "Let's make a human pyramid!" stage of the night. This picture will explain all:
Enter a ping pong ball, soju, and bowls...what do you have? Why Soju Pong, of course! It was definitely good times all around. Some wrestling, talking, Tarot readings, categories, music, and loads of great people - it was a good Christmas.
I did miss my family and my friends. I did miss Morgan crawling into bed with me at 6am sharp to say "Auntie Brooke! Auntie Brooke! Wake up! Santa came!" with her blue eyes opened as wide as they can be, I did miss Icarus army crawling over me to get to Jacob to lick his face all over (I miss this every morning), I missed Rosanna's awesome morning coffee, I missed making delicious Italian cookies with Mumsies, I missed bugging Daddio while he was trying to work or watch a game, I missed watching Charles and Jacob play video games, I missed talking about random music with Georgia, I missed my Christmas Eve nighties, I missed watching Richard start shit with everyone haha, and I missed...well...I just missed everyone. But that night in Geumchon, everyone was missing their family and friends and we made a wonderful time of it.
